YANGON– BAGO - GOLDEN ROCK – MAWLAMYINE - DAWEI - MYEIK- KAWTHAUNG – FOLK ISLAND - YANGON ---21days / 20 nights--- Day 1 : Arrival in Yangon (by A/C car, plane) (D) Arrival in Yangon from Bangkok.Transfer to hotel for check-in & free. Overnight in Yangon. Day 2 : Yangon full day tour (by A/C car, trishaw) (B,L,D) A full day tour to discover the colorful capital of Myanmar with a close looks at the local life of this historical city: Morning, excursion to Myanmar’s holiest monument the Shwedagon Pagoda with its golden stupa covered with 60 tons of pure gold leaf. then visit to Sule pagoda in the middle of the city, walk around to see the Mahabandoola Park, the colonial courthouse and the city hall. From there a rickshaw tour around the colonial area with the historical buildings will start, breaking at a local teashop to enjoy Burmese tea and the typical atmosphere. Continue by rickshaw along the famous Strand Road and visit the bustling Yangon harbor. In the afternoon continue to Yanogn’s oldest Chinese temple, Kheng Hock Keong, in China town. Visit the colorful local Theingyi Market where fish, fruit and vegetables are sold and continue to Bogyoke Aung San Market (formerly Scott’s market) for shopping and free time. Overnight in Yangon. Day 3 : Yangon-Thanlyin (Syriam)-Yangon (by A/C car) (B, L,D) Tour by car to Syriam, once a major port, but now a sleepy village. Enroute, visit Kyaik Kyauk Pagoda (Mon Pagoda), legend said built since over 2000 years ago. Continue to Yele Pagoda(Mid-Stream-Pagoda), set on a tiny island in the river and explore two further pagodas and the riverside market where you can taste famous Myanmar dried fish (Nga Poke Chauk). Return to the hotel and free at leisure. Overnight in Yangon. Day 4 : Yangon-Bago (by A/C car) (B,L,D) After breakfast at the hotel, leave Yangon and enjoy a scenic journey by road to Bago. 80km to the north west of Yangon, is an ancient capital of a former Mon kingdom dating back to the 6th century. Sightseeing in Bago includes the beautiful 55 metre long reclining Buddha, Shwethalyaung, and the Mon style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most venerated in Myanmar. Its spire stands 114m high and is taller even than the Shwedagon Pagoda. Also visit the well-restored former palace Kamboza Thadi. End the tour of Bago with a walk around the colourful Bago Market. Overnight in Bago. Day 5 : Bago - Kyaiktiyo (by A/C car) (B,L,D) After breakfast, leave Bago. In the afternoon arrive to Kyaiktiyo, 110km east of Bago and one of Myanmar's great pilgrimage sites. Arrive at Kyaiktiyo base camp in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel with one of the small open trucks in a 1-hour ride to the transit junction. After that, start an easy 1-hour walk up to Golden Rock, a huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. The pagoda at the Golden Rock is said to hold a hair of the Buddha. Overnight in Kyaiktiyo. Day 6 : Kyaiktiyo (by A/C car) (B,L,D) After breakfast, visit around Kyaiktiyo (very light trekking around Golden Rock hill). Overnight in Kyaiktiyo. Day 7 : Kyaiktiyo-Moulmein (by A/C car) (B,L,D) After breakfast, proceed to the jetty and board a local ferry for a 2-hour river trip along the Thanlwin River to Mawlamyine, formerly known as Moulmein. (The capital of Mon State is located at the banks of Thanlwin River and surely an ideal place for a journey back into colonial times. Explore the charming, green city surrounded by the river to the west and to the east by a canopy of shimmering pagodas by trishaw, drive past the Mahamuni Pagda, Kyaikthanlan Pagoda. And also visitors can see Saluti Mosque, Mogul Shah Mosque, Kaladan Mosque and First Baptist Church.) Overnight in Moulmein. Day 8 : Moulmein (by A/C car) (B,L,D) Visit Mahamuni Pagoda, built in traditional Mon-style, Kyaikthanlan Pagoda, the city's tallest and most visible stupa, and the beautiful Seindon Mibaya wooden monastery. Walk along Strand Road for a glimpse of the impressive Kaladan Mosque, built during the colonial era when many Indians came to work for the British in Moulemein. The city between 1827 and 1852 was the capital of British Burma and even today the city retains the atmosphere of those colonial times. Overnight in Moulmein. Day 9 : Moulmein-Yangon (by A/C car) (B,L,D) After breakfast, leave Moulmein crossing the Thanlwin River by ferry to Martaban and proceed by road to Yangon with a stop en route for lunch. Arrive back in Yangon late in the afternoon and transfer to hotel. Day 10: Yangon - Myeik (by A/C car, fligh) (B,L,D) After breakfast , transfer to airport for depart to Myeik. Upon arrival Myeik, sightseeing tour in Myeik city. Overnight in Myeik. (Information : Due to the archipelago's virtual isolation, the islands and surrounding seas are alive with an amazing diversity of wildlife, flora and fauna. Parrots, hornbills, sea easels, Brahman kites and herons fill the skies, whilst on land the animal population includes elephants, monkeys, deer, wild pigs, tigers and rhinoceros. The only human inhabitants in the area are the sea gypsies, a nomadic sea-faring race whose lifestyle has changed very little over the years, they have been the sole inhabitants of the Mergui Archipelago over two years and still practice the same fishing and boat building techniques used for generations. Overnight in Myeik. Day 12 : Myeik - Kaw Thaung (by A/C car, flight) (B,L,D) Transfer to Kaw Thaung by Speedboat. Upon Arrival on Kaw Thaung, Transfer to the downtown of Kawthaung by coach. Going on to the Hotel by boat for check-in .The small town Kawthaung is situated on the south east of Myanmar and also located near the Equator, has two seasons. Sightseeing around the Victoria Point area and to get a feel foe scenic view of Andaman Sea. Making an excursion to St.Luke Island including looking sunset picture on the west sky and again. Day 20: Yangon-Twante-Yangon (by A/C car) (B,L,D) Leave after breakfast by road to take the ferry across the Yangon River. It is an interesting journey to Twante, offering a glimpse of life in the countryside passing rice fields, small villages of bamboo huts and banana plantations. After 45 minutes stop to visit a market. Continue by horse and carriage to visit a ceramics making area where more then twenty family workshops produce ceramic pots using centuries old methods. Also visit the pottery market from where the pots are shipped to Yangon. After walking around in the village transfer by horse and carriage to the ferry terminal for the two hour ferry crossing back to Yangon. From the boat you can enjoy the scenery along the river where boats are being loaded with local goods, women are washing clothes and children are playing by the riverside. Back in Yangon transfer to the hotel and free time. Overnight in Yangon. Day 21 : Departure (by A/C car) (B) After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure. End of service.
