VETERAN TOUR ~ THE MEMORIES OF VIETNAM WAR HO CHI MINH CITY – TAY NINH – CU CHI TUNNELS – CAN GIO – KONTUM – PLEIKU – DA NANG – HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN – HUE ROYAL CITY – A LUOI – DONG HA – DONG HOI – PHONG NHA CAVES --- 15D/14N Day 1: ARRIVAL IN HCMC (by plane, car) Welcome and transfer to hotel in HCM City (Saigon) - the biggest city of Vietnam. Photo-Stop at the city landmarks, first buildings of colonial motif in Saigon: Notre Dame Cathedral, Municipal Post Office. Free at leisure till drive to the Binh Quoi tourist village for dinner and enjoy the Wedding fork show. Day 2: HCMC full day tour (by car) To learn the sorrowful historic of Vietnam from 1954-1975 by a visit to War Remnants Museum for a self vision, self consideration of the War before 1975 and the cost of Peace. Then visit seventh Military zone Museum, Military Museum, Historical Museum for a whole view of Vietnam History on thousands year. (B) Day 3: HCMC – CU CHI TUNNELS – DONG DU BASE (by car 140 km) Travel to Cu Chi Underground Tunnels - a famous battle field, a guerrilla base during Vietnam War before 1975, enjoy a challenging excursion inside the tunnels and bunkers, the visit Dong Du Base-A American-South Vietnamese base roled acted like a antagonistic point of Cu Chi Tunnels to learn more battles in Vietnam. (B) Day 5: HCMC – PLEIKU (by plane, car) After breakfast, would be a good time to have a glimpse of Saigon and Vietnam, visit Reunification Palace – a symbol of Saigon old Government before 1975, (also called former President Palace) to learn the sorrowful historic of Vietnam Ideology War from 1954-1975, then drive slowly along a historical boulevard which the impressive buildings as the old US Embassy the Prime Ministerial building and many more, there are like the historical witnesses to the ups and downs, political upheavals of a Nation and its generations. Then stop-over to visit China Town, the really typical marketplace, a good indication of the importance the Chinese have traditionally played in Vietnam's economy. Witness the bustling Binh Tay Wholesales Market where the most Oriental typical commercial center, continuing to visit a Chinese Lady Temple of over 150 years, with the legendary story of the ancient boat-men refugees from mainland China during the feudal dynasties, which are illustrated via an impress collection of Chinaware and porcelain masterpieces. Then transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for afternoon flight to Pleiku. Arrival in Pleiku transfer to hotel for check in and free leisure at night. Overnight in Pleiku. (B) Day 6: PLEIKU – KON TUM (by car 49 km) Proceed to Kontum, the largest highlands plateau, known for its breath-taking mountain sceneries, cool climate and tribal culture. Visit Ancient wooden church, ancient bishopric building, chain-bridge of Dackrong, M’nong communal house. Enjoy traditional music show of hill tribe children. (B) Day 9 : HOI AN – DA NANG – HUE (by car 135 km) Visit to Cham Museum-a high-class collection of Champa Civilization. Transfer to Hue Royal City, stop-over to have a look at Lang Co beach and on peak of Ocean-Clouds Pass to view over beautiful landscapes, enjoy a halfday of historic tour to Royal complex : Noontime gate, Harmonized palace, Nine Dynasty Urns, Hien Lam Cac, Royal Galary. Finally, take a look the daily living of Hue in Dong Ba market. Shopping and enjoy youself (B) Day 10: HUE – ALUOI (by car 130 km) Excursion to A Luoi in 64 km southwest of Hue along Route 49. Its name has never faded in the memory of American Veterants. Visit battlefields such as Hamburger Hill (ApBia mountain), Ashau Valley with a stop at Ta Oi village and Hong Bac Tunnels. Return to Hue for the night. (B) Day 11: HUE - DONG HA (by car 74 km) Straight up to Dong Ha, as a US marine command and logistics during 1968-1969. Stop-over in Quang Tri town for visit La Vang Basilica - a supermatural evidence of Vietnamese Chirstian from Monarchical time, proceeding to the battlefield of old citadel Quang Tri. Followed up to travel on the Natinal Road of No 9, Photo-stop at Dakrong bridge where was once a branch of Ho Chi Minh Trail, and Brus-Van Kieu ethnic minority villages located along the road, continuing to Tacon battle airport, Khe Sanh Combat base, the bloodiest battles was took place here, a barren plateau surrounded by vegetation-covered hillsoften obscured by mist and fog. (B) Day 12: DONG HA - DONG HOI (by car 110 km) Today visit Truong Son National Cemetery, is a memorial to tens of thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers who were killed along Ho Chi Minh Trail, Doc Mieu base-once part of an elaborate electronic system, there seem being lunar landscape of bunkers, craters, shrapnel and live mortal rounds. Straight up Ben Hai River & Hien Luong bridge – once the demarcation line between North & South Vietnam. Finally, the remarkable tunnels of Vinh Moc are the real thing and unaldulterated for viewing, are yet another monument to the tenacity of North Vietnamese to persevere and triumph in the war with South Vietnam and the USA. Take your time to relax and bathing at the deep blue beaches here. Get off to Dong Hoi for overnight. (B) Day 13: DONG HOI – PHONG NHA CAVES (by car 100 km, boat) A most favourite destination for tourists who love to imposing natural sceneries, Phong Nha caves are just recognized as the World Natural Heritage by UNESCO, with 14 caves situated in a region of limestone mountain ranges which can be extended to Laos. Enjoy boat cruise to caves with the most beautiful and migical stalactites and stalagmites. Drive back to Dong Hoi for night. (B) Day 14 : DONG HOI – HUE (by car 180 km, boat) Check-out then transfer back to Hue. On afternoon, enjoy dragon boat cruise on poetic Huong River (Perfume River) to visit King Minh Mang’s Tomb. Finally, visit Thien Mu Pagoda and watching the sunset along Perfume river is the perfect compensation to the travelling days recently. (B) Day 15 : DEPARTURE from HUE OR DANANG (by car, plane) ABF. Free time until transfer to the Airport of Hue or Danang for departure.(B)
